Hear Art is now a registered community interest company and we are really excited about the future ahead. We want to continue opening up creative opportunities for the deaf community and to bring employment and awareness to the UK creative and media industry.
There is an amazing pool of deaf talent in the UK who are capable and committed to contributing to our artistic landscape and delivering high end quality work. We have demonstrated this by financing and giving the space for deaf creatives to work with UK production companies to make beautiful deaf-led short films that could be enjoyed by both deaf and hearing audiences on a commercial level.
Our aim is to continue offering funding, mentoring and employment opportunities to deaf creatives or talent. To provide deaf-led workshops to educate and train the UK arts and media industry into being inclusive and accessible for the deaf community.
We also want to grow, so we can employ deaf staff to work with us – Hear Art wants to constantly evolve and learn from the deaf community, and be a platform that is deaf-led.
